TracingHouseArchitects - T•H•A Is a Design-Led Architectural Studio that carries out Residential & Commercial Projects throughout the UK, with specialisation in Bespoke residential, Conservation and conversions, and Sports facilities.
Established in 1989 TracingHouse Architects on an Island in the centre of Oxford. The Practice has evolved with expertise in the construction science and the practice of Architecture. Collaborating with a wide range of offices both in here in the UK and parts of the Far East. Major projects include a broad range of building types in both the Private and Public sectors.
Experience includes all branches of the architectural profession including planning and design from the complex refurbishment of listed buildings through to commercial office and warehouse and Education developments.
The name Tracing House is based on the medieval ‘tracing house’ established during major architectural builds of Cathedrals, where an area was dedicated to ‘trace’ out full size templates for the intricate tracery for the use by stone masons to follow. The most notable surviving examples are at York Minster and Wells Cathedral that date back to the 13th Century.
The early adoption of computer aided design in the early 1980’s has been a continuing process adopting the early integration of 3D computer modelling more recently the use of Ai in developing designs and visualisations.
The practice was founded by Rob Marsh-Feiley who trained and qualified at Oxford Polytechnic (Oxford Brooks) and initially working at the Offices of Robert Maguire and Keith Murray in Richmond later setting up Tracing House Architects in 1989 in Oxford. Working for the last 30 years as a freelance consultant for Architectural practices. Currently with Hollins Architects in Framlingham in Suffolk.
With over 40 years experience in practice working in a wide range of offices both in the UK, Indonesia and Hong Kong. Major projects have covered a broad range of building types from residential schemes in the UK to major high rise hotel, retail and residential projects in Hong Kong. More recent experience includes refurbishment and conversions of listed buildings and Barns through to commercial office, sports and Education developments around East anglia and London.
A keen Squash Player and Cyclist but often found at the weekends with tools in had working on the latest building projet!
